The WheelPad Order Process

We make ordering your new PAD (personal accessible dwelling) as easy as possible.

How to order your PAD

Step 1 – Contact us

Contact WheelPad via email, by calling (802) 464-3957, or use our Contact Us page. Let us know what WheelPAD model interests you. We’ll be happy to answer any questions and start your quote.

Step 2 – Initial Call

Our team will follow up with you to learn more about the specifics of your situation and where you want a WheelPAD installed. We will talk about the specifics of your site and our process. Based on the site information (setbacks, zoning, lot coverage details, environmental constraints, etc) we evaluate where best to place your new PAD. Together we discuss any modifications or specific options needed for your project. We will also ask you to send us photos of your installation site.

Time: 30 Minutes. Cost: FREE

Step 3 – Site Visit

After the initial call we perform a site visit. In the vast majority of cases this site visit will be virtual. Remember those photos we asked you to send of your site? For Virtual site visits we rely on those to determine basic feasibility. The virtual site visit will determine if a PAD is appropriate for your property. WheelPad works with a local general contractor of your choosing to install your PAD, so ideally that person will also be able to tune into the site visit. After the site visit is when you decide if a PAD is right for you, and sign a contract.

Time: 1 hour Cost: Free

Step 4 - Permitting

The first part of our contract is a $2,000 deposit, during which time we immediately work with you and your general contractor performing installation to obtain a permit. The permitting portion is taken care of by your contractor with support from WheelPad L3C. WheelPad provides necessary information about our products for permitting documents that are needed for your particular town. Typical permit applications include architect stamped drawings of our products, a plot plan, foundation information, electrical & plumbing connections, connector & location to the house, ramp height, insulation, heating information, and wind code compliance.

Our guarantee: if a permit isn’t possible – we’ll refund you 50% of your deposit.

Time: 8 Weeks (Based on your town's permitting schedule) Cost: $2,000 Deposit

Step 5 - Scheduling

Once you get your permits, our Project Coordinator will coordinate a production schedule for the manufacture and installation of your PAD. This schedule is based on production time for your PAD, and your contractor’s schedule for the site work and connector.

Time: WheelPad will be ready in a few days, though permitting timeline can vary from town to town. Cost: 65% down payment for purchase. First, last, and security deposit due for leases.

Step 6 – Delivery

Our project manager will confirm a date for the delivery of your PAD. We arrange for delivery.

Time: 2 Weeks. Cost: Balance due before delivery.
