We make ordering your new PAD (personal accessible dwelling) as easy as possible.

How to order your PAD

Step 1 – Contact us

Contact WheelPad via email, by calling (802) 464-3957, or use our Contact Us page. Let us know what WheelPAD model interests you. We’ll be happy to answer any questions and start your quote.

Step 2 – Initial meeting and evaluation

Our team will follow up with you to learn more about the specifics of your situation and where you want a WheelPAD installed. You send us photos. . . . we will talk about the specifics of your site and our process. Based on the site information (setbacks, zoning, lot coverage details, environmental constraints, etc) we evaluate where best to place your new WheelPAD. Together we discuss any modifications or specific options needed for your project.

Time: 30 Minutes. Cost: FREE

Step 3 – Virtual site visit and permitting

The virtual site visit will determine if a WheelPad accessible housing unit is appropriate for your property. Once details about the home, property, and legalities are confirmed, WheelPad staff will send you an agreement with a request for deposit. The permitting portion is taken care of by your contractor with support from WheelPad L3C. WheelPad provides drawings necessary for permitting documents that are needed for your particular town. Typical permit applications include architect stamped drawings, plot plan, foundation information, electrical & plumbing connections, connector & location to the house, ramp height, insulation, heating information, and wind code compliance.

Our guarantee: if a permit isn’t possible – we’ll refund you 50% of your deposit.

Time: 8 Weeks Cost: $2,000 Deposit

Step 4 - Scheduling

Our Project Manager will coordinate a production schedule for the manufacture and installation of your WheelPAD. This schedule is based on production time for your PAD, and your contractor’s schedule for the site work and connector.

Time: 1 week after your deposit for a scheduling meeting, production and delivery times vary. Cost: 60% Down Payment

Step 5 – Delivery

Our project manager will confirm a date for the delivery and installation of your WheelPAD.

We arrange for delivery. The delivery cost is dependent on your WheelPAD model.

Time: 1 Week. Cost: Balance due before delivery.

Step 6 - Installation

We work with your contractor, answering all questions regarding electricity, water & sewer hookups, etc. Typically:

    • House prep to utilize the back door or cut through the window.

    • Connector rough framing, shell tight installation, roofing.

    • Interior & exterior finishes. Standard is painted millwork and MDO to match the PAD

    • Roofing.

    • Connector: 8' x 5' provides wheelchair clearance and equipment access.

    • Minimum Opening to the house: 34" wide.

    • Note: The connector door is already installed on your PAD.

Time: 1-2 Weeks
