Custom Ordering and Construction

Each WheelPad personal accessible dwelling installation is unique, offering a chance to tailor your habitat to your lifestyle. Base building models exist to begin, customization is available with a longer lead time. 

Delivery and Installation

Depending on local permitting WheelPads can be installed within a week, minimizing construction disruption to home life. Delivery for our standard model can be made by a heavy duty pick up truck, helping to keep costs down. 

The Interior

Delightfully efficient interiors feature pleasing design seamlessly integrated with accessibility features including a built in ceiling hoist track, spacious bathroom with curb-less shower, hygienic rounded flooring corners for easier cleaning, and appropriately placed outlets & switches.

Sustainable & Eco-Friendly

WheelPADs are built with materials meant to last, with renewable and non-toxic finishes resulting in little to no off-gassing so you can breathe, and rest, easy.

They are solidly built exclusively with premium SIPs construction (Structural Insulated Panel). Thus the walls, floor, and roof have higher R-values without thermal bridging. This keeps heating & cooling more efficient, reducing energy costs.

You send us photos. . . . we will talk about the specifics of your site and our process. Based on the site information (setbacks, zoning, lot coverage details, environmental constraints, etc) we evaluate where best to place +Add PAD. Together we discuss any modifications or specific options needed for your project.

The permitting portion is taken care of by your contractor with support from Wheel Pad L3C. Wheel Pad provides drawings necessary for permitting documents needed for your particular Town. Typical submissions include: Architect stamped drawings, plot plan, foundation information, electrical & plumbing connections, Connector & location to the house, ramp height, insulation, heating information, wind code compliance.

Our guarantee: if a permit isn’t possible – we’ll refund you 50%.

We work with your contractor answering all questions regarding electricity, water & sewer hookups, etc. Typically:

• House prep to utilize the back door or cut through the window.

• Connector rough framing, shell tight installation, roofing.

• Interior & exterior finishes. Standard is painted millwork and MDO to match the +Add Pad

• Roofing.

• Connector: 8' x 5' provides wheelchair clearance and equipment access. 

• Minimum Opening to the house: 34" wide.

• Note: The connector door is already on +Add Pad.
